NMEP TECHNICAL BRANCH

Integrated Vector Management

Reducing contact between people and malaria-carrying mosquitoes.

OUR OBJECTIVE

Reducing contact between people and malaria-carrying mosquitoes.

Planning effective vector control

Vector control combines appropriate interventions with local evidence about malaria transmission and mosquito behaviour. The branch supports coordination of prevention activities and technical guidance for implementation.

Insecticide-treated nets

ITN campaigns and continuous distribution channels help households access protective nets. Programme work links planning, quantification, distribution, household communication and monitoring of net access and use.

Entomological surveillance

Information about mosquito species, behaviour and insecticide resistance informs vector-control decisions. Surveillance findings support the selection and assessment of appropriate tools.

Working with states and communities

Implementation depends on coordination among state programmes, local government teams, facilities and community structures. Partners support delivery within agreed programme plans.
