What we do
A coordinated national response to malaria, from policy to community action.
Our vision
A malaria-free Nigeria.
Our mission
To support equitable access to effective malaria prevention and care through coordinated, evidence-informed action across government, communities and partners.
Our mandate
The National Malaria Elimination Programme provides national leadership and coordination for Nigeria’s malaria response within the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. This includes policy and strategy, technical guidance, partnerships, monitoring and support to implementation.
Our objectives
Our programme priorities bring together prevention, appropriate diagnosis and treatment, reliable commodities, community participation and the use of evidence. National strategy guides planning; state programmes translate priorities into local implementation.
How the work connects
Technical branches work together across the programme cycle: understanding needs, planning interventions, supporting delivery and reviewing results. Government, development partners, civil society and the private sector contribute to a shared national response.
